Hello from Cedar Weekly Emails
Hello from Cedar
We hope that your week is going smoothly!
Sports Day
Either today or early next week, your child will bring home a paper letter which gives more details about Sports Day. Please do look out for this in your child's bag!
We are really looking forward to welcoming families to Sports Day, starting at 1pm, on:
Monday 20th May if your child is in a primary class (Red, Blue, Green, Yellow or Purple)
Tuesday 21st May if your child is in a senior class (Diamond, Sapphire, Amethyst, Ruby or Emerald)
Bake Sale
On Monday the children in Ruby Class are baking cakes and they will be selling these, as well as some packaged supermarket cakes, in the afternoon for between 50p - £2. If your child wants a cake (and assuming the cakes have not run out!!), they can bring in money to buy a cake on Monday. Our Year 11s in Ruby Class are baking the cakes as part of their Careers Week and they will be using the money raised to help fund their Year 11 Leavers' Day events on 11th July. It is a great learning opportunity for the children to be involved in managing the finances behind the day's organisation and their bake sale is part of their learning. Thank you for supporting them with this.
Romsey Relay Marathon
A reminder that, on Sunday 19th May, the Romsey Relay Marathon is taking place. Along with a team of colleagues from Aviva, Ally Antell (whose son, Andrew, is a pupil here at Cedar), will be running the marathon to raise money for The Cedar School. They have set up a fundraising page which tells more about the Antell family's personal reasons for entering this event. The link to the fundraising page is https://samantell. muchloved.com/Fundraising/ Events/679555591 and Ally and the Aviva team thank you for any donations made. Huge thanks from everyone at Cedar to Ally and his Aviva colleagues; we send you strength for the run.
... and finally ...
We hope that you get to enjoy some of the promised weekend sunshine ! Take care!
Neil, Cesia and the whole Cedar Team
