Hello from Cedar Weekly Emails

Hello from Cedar

We hope that you have had a good week.

Today is the last day of January which has been another busy month in school!

Assemblies
In assemblies this week we have had a focus on 'Holocaust Memorial Day' which was on Monday.  The children have reflected on the power of kindness and peace and on how a candle can often serve as a helpful prompt for remembrance. They have also learned about the importance of treating everybody with equal respect and of not discriminating.

We thought that you might be interested to know that we have themes for our assemblies each week which often match to important UK or World events.  This half term our themes have been/are:

Week Theme
1 New Year
2 World Religion Day
3 Dr. Martin Luther King Day
4 Holocaust Memorial Day
5 Charles Dickens’ Birthday
6

Safer Internet Day

Sometimes you may want to ask your child what they have learned about in assemblies.  The children often share very thoughtful ideas during assemblies.
