Hello from Cedar Weekly Emails

Hello from Cedar

It has been another busy week in school!  Your children have been wonderful with their positive attitudes and approaches to learning shining through as always!

Visitors To School
We often welcome different visitors into school and they give such lovely feedback. We thought that you might like to hear about some of our recent visitors and the comments which they have made about your children and our school.

1. We have welcomed a number of students who are training to teach across this half-term. Some of them are training to teach in special schools while others are preparing for careers in mainstream schools.

Here are some of their comments about Cedar:

“Such a positive experience! Thank you all so much!”
“A really enlightening experience.”
“So valuable – I really felt that every child was noticed and cared for."
“I was really fortunate to witness how staff had built genuine relationships with pupils and want to take this into my own teaching.”

2. This week our Chair of Governors (Sally Sampson) and I welcomed the Governor Lead for Southampton City Council into school.  She made the comment that:
"The school is really calm and everyone behaves so well.  It is a privilege to be here.  The Cedar children have totally inspired me."
Receiving feedback like this is really heartening.  Thank you to your children ... and to our staff team ... for making Cedar such a special place.

Staffing Update
As you know, we are a multi-agency staff team with school-employed staff working alongside NHS-employed colleagues.  One of our wonderful NHS team - Tiffany Dent - who has worked in our nursing team for two years will be leaving us next Friday to take up a post as the Lead Nurse at Mary Rose Academy in Portsmouth.  Congratulations to Tiff and thank you for all of your work with Cedar children.  We will miss you.

We Will Break Up For The Half Term Holiday On Friday 14th February

Just a reminder that we will break up for the half-term holiday a week from today on Friday 14th February.  After the break we will return at the usual time on Monday 24th February.

With our very best wishes for the weekend,
Neil, Cesia and the whole Cedar Team
