Hello from Cedar Weekly Emails
Hello from Cedar
I hope that this week has gone well for you. It has been another busy and productive week here at school!
Assemblies
As you know, we have themes for our assemblies each week which often match to important religious, UK or World events. This half term our themes have been/are:
Week | Theme |
1 | Women's History Month |
2 | Shrove Tuesday |
3 | Holi |
4 | World Water Day |
5 | Ramadan |
6 | Easter and Eid al-Fitr |
Sometimes you may want to ask your child what they have learned about in assemblies. The children often share very thoughtful ideas during assemblies.
Governor Monitoring
Recently our governors spent time in school visiting classrooms as part of their regular monitoring of our work. A group of children met with the governors to discuss what they know about 'staying safe online'. As we all know, and as we constantly emphasise to the children, internet safety is of vital importance.
Afterwards our Chair of Governors, Dr. Sally Sampson, reported back that:
'Listening to the Pupil Voice was a pleasure. We spoke about safety within the school, and internet safety. The students we spoke to were able to explain how safe they felt in school, who they would go to if they had any problems, and were aware of internet safety and what they should/shouldn’t do online.'
Well done and thank you to the children who met with the governors!
My thanks, as well, to our hard-working and committed governors who freely give so much time and energy to our school.
Everyone at Cedar joins us in sending you best wishes for the weekend,
Neil, Cesia and the whole Cedar Team
