We hope that your week is going well.
Next week is the last week before the half term holiday. We will break up on Friday 24th May and, after the break, the children will return to school at the usual time on Monday 3rd June.
Sports Day - Next Week!
We are really looking forward to welcoming families to Sports Day, starting at 1pm, on:
Monday 20th May if your child is in a primary class (Red, Blue, Green, Yellow or Purple)
Tuesday 21st May if your child is in a senior class (Diamond, Sapphire, Amethyst, Ruby or Emerald)
If the weather is unsuitable for sports on either day, we will send an email to families by 9.30am to let you know so please do keep an eye on your emails. Hopefully we will be able to dodge any showers but we will keep you updated.
Non-Uniform Day for Summer Fair - Friday 24th May
A reminder that Cedar's Summer Fair will be on Saturday 15th June between 11am and 2pm. Further details will follow nearer the time! Everyone will be very welcome!
Next Friday (24th May) we will be having a non-uniform day to support the Summer Fair. In exchange for children wearing clothes of their choice, we invite a donation for either the bottle tombola, the toiletry tombola or, if easier, a £2.00 donation. Many thanks for your support with this big fundraising event for our school.
Staffing Updates
Next Friday Dave Cubbon, SSA in Yellow Class, will be retiring after working for several years at Cedar. Dave has been a wonderful member of our school family. Dave will always do anything to support the children, is constantly positive and we will miss him. Dave - thank you for all of your work at Cedar and very best wishes for your exciting retirement plans! Next half-term Cheryl Watts will be joining the team in Yellow on Thursdays and Fridays which are the days when Dave works at the moment.
We are delighted to have welcomed Abhimanyu Rana to our staff team this week as our new Site Manager. Sue Carter is our Senior Site Manager who works every morning; Abhimanyu works every afternoon as Site Manager. We hope that you will be very happy here, Abhimanyu!
We are equally delighted to have welcomed Rachel Smith to our lunchtime supervisory assistant team. Rachel is already getting to know the children and we look forward to working with her more. We hope that you will be very happy here at Cedar, Rachel!
Romsey Relay Marathon - This Sunday!
On Sunday the Romsey Relay Marathon is taking place. Along with a team of colleagues from Aviva, Ally Antell (whose son, Andrew, is a pupil here at Cedar), will be running the marathon to raise money for The Cedar School. They have set up a fundraising page which tells more about the Antell family's personal reasons for entering this event.
